Th free tutorial instructions for this block are from Connie Kresin from ConnieDresin.com.  I can see this as a valentine quilt, a baby quilt, or a quilt to cheer someone up!  The blocks are easy to make and pretty quick.  They would be beautiful in most fabrics and colors.
ENTER THE BLOCK LOTTO:
To enter the July Block Lotto, make 1 block to submit.  Only 1 entry per member.
  • Colors: Primarily pink and reds.
  • Blocks submitted should be 8-1/2" by 8-1/2 inch unfinished.
  • Mail to Ann Nolen at 1007 Baird Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95409. Include your name and email.  Ann will contact you by email for your mailing address if you win.
  • Deadline to be received by Ann is Saturday, August 10th, 2024. Drawing to be done at our Zoom meeting on Monday, Aug 12th.

Make half square triangles and cut squares:
  • For each block make 12 Half Square Triangles that are a background fabric and a color/print fabric. If making in the two at a time method, cut 2-7/8 inch squares to make 2-1/2 inch Half Square Triangles.
  • Cut 2 x 2-1/2 inch squares in the background fabric
  • Cut 2 x 2-1/2 inch squares in the color/print fabric
  • Assemble the 2-1/2 inch components following the photo.
  • Blocks will be 8-1/2 inch x 8-1/2 inch unfinished.
  • If you make more blocks for your project, you can use either version in the photo below, the only difference is that the 4 center blocks are turned around.
  • If you make a quilt, you might consider adding sashing, borders, etc.
