Our members have used the video below to learn how to make Quarter Stars. Instead of making 4 Quarter Stars to make a complete star, how about positioning them for a Holiday design like I did! Using my photos and a chart gives you enough information to follow me and make one just like mine. You can of course just go off the rails and make any design you dream of. Ann If you use the video and cut 3.5 inch squares, and cut 4.0 inch sqares to make the Half Square Triangles, you quilt will be 36" by 36". I added a 4.5 inch border but you can choose what size you prefer. If you want a 24 x 24 inch project before borders, cut 2.5 inch squares and cut 3.0 inch squares for the Half Square Triangles. Since the holidays are rapidly approaching, I thought it might be good to share it again. --Ann ... These caught my eye as something cute, easy to make and quick to make. The video includes instructions for making both pillow, with an explanation on an easy back for the pillow so you can easily change your pillow cases when you want. The free instructional video and patterns are from Riley Blake Fabrics. Here is a download for the two patterns:
This video is quite a surprise to many people. I wanted to thank all you wonderful quilters for helping me to meet my goal of living to 100. I am passing it along so you can join me. ---Ann Fast and easy machine quilting is great for both beginners and if you need to get a quilt done quickly. This video shows 5 walking-foot quilting designs, and 5 free motion quilting designs. You might just find your answers right here! Even though we are an all-online quilt group, sometimes our members get to meet each other in-person (or out in the wild!). One of our members, Diane (Seattle) came to a quilt retreat in Santa Rosa, and was able to meet a few members in person. These members are regulars at our Zoom meetings. What fun!
PS- Click on the photo to see a larger image. Below are the blocks made by our Members, and submitted for our drawing on Monday, September 8th at our 2:00 pacific time Zoom meeting. All the blocks were made from the same free pattern. After the drawing, we will post the name of the winner here. |
