ABOUT OUR VIRTUAL QUILT GROUP
The Pandemic has brought new challenges to all of us. For our many quilters, it has temporarily removed our ability to meet in large groups. There is always a silver lining, even in tough times, and this Group is that. Even though we are based in Sonoma County, California, we welcome anyone who wants to join the group, regardless of where they happen to live.
Some of us gathered to keep our connection using the internet.
A private Facebook Group was started by Ann Nolen in March 2020. Group members were able to share their quilt hobby and encourage each other by having Zoom meetings, and hanging out in our private Facebook group. After 5 months, many quilt teachers started offering group classes by Zoom. This brought a wonderful opportunity to take classes from quilt teachers all over the world, and sew in the convenience of our own sewing rooms.

Ann Nolen
Ann started this Group to keep a connection to other quilters during the Pandemic shutdown. She has a business and tech background and wanted to help her community adapt to a virtual style to continue with the hobby we love so much. She was very grateful that other quilters joined her and she decided to donate the online structure to help the group prosper. She belongs to several Guilds and Quilt Groups in Sonoma County and feels this group is a compliment to that, and hopes other quilters will want to belong to both types, like her.
