I had so much fun sharing the August Quilt Along, that I decided to share a small project in September too! Since Halloween is coming up, I wanted to share a group of free patterns from my research. The free patterns below are my starting point. I will share more information as I work on my project this month. Wonder which ones I will use. What would you do? --Ann Nolen PS - Click the "Read More" button at the bottom of this post to see the entire article

So something new for our group! Week 1 will be to make the flower portion of the block. I am including videos for those who are visual learners, and some written instructions as well. By the way, I am going to make 3 of these blocks to make my Porch Quilt, but you can use it for other things, including a pillow, table runner, placemats, bag, and a quilt of any size. Thanks, Ann Nolen [email protected] (Click Read More link below on the right to see rest of article) One of our members happens to also be a public librarian. She has put together a Summer Challenge for us named "Summer Quilt Program" and the fun is on! Earn points by doing different quilting activities. Report your progress, and you might earn the top title of "Overachiever"...

Go to the "Join" page, using the tabs at the top of our website, click "Join." As many of us know, one thing leads to another. In this case Mary Ann challenged Chris to pick a storage box of fabric from his stash and make a quilt from the fabric, just what he found in that box. She would do the same.
Then to add a little more fun to it, Ann volunteered to share a "free pattern" that both of them would have to make. Of course, why not let everyone in on the fun? Ann is revealing the pattern to both of them on Monday, Jan 24th. Join in now, or catch up later. Challenge Rules: (Honor System, Mary Ann won't be checking!!!)
This pattern was offered free by Free Spirit Fabrics. It is called "Sunshine in the Garden" and designed by Sue Penn Designs to compliment her fabric collection you see in the photo. It will be fun to see what the "storage box" finished quilts look like.
It is lap size of 44" x 60" and rated for a Confident Beginner quilter. Click on "Download File" to get the pattern. Problems? Ann can email it to members. [email protected] ![]()
